The 15 million dollar Whitman College Sherwood Athletic Center Remodel Project is progressing on schedule toward a late August move in date. This challenging project includes the removal of the old swimming pool to add a third gymnasium, new staff offices, elevator, state-of-the-art climbing wall and renovated locker rooms. The old concrete tilt panel exterior walls are being covered over with red brick veneer to match the newer campus buildings.
After years of planning and fund raising, construction is under way on Phase I of the Fort Walla Walla Museum Services & Facilities Enhancement Project. At a cost of approximately $2.1 million, we will add a new main entry hall and parking lot on the upper northeast side of the grounds. In addition to the entry hall, the project includes a theater, special exhibits display area, general store, restrooms and offices. Approximate square footage for the new building is 11,840.
